Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for Hyatt Place Buffalo Amherst. The on-site role involves overseeing the property grounds, public areas and guest rooms, performing preventative maintenance, checking fixtures, and responding to maintenance orders to keep operations smooth.

This full-time position pays between $22 and $28 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career growth within our growing hotel portfolio.

Qualifications

• Two or more years in a hotel maintenance position preferred
• One year of college or trade school in mechanical/electrical disciplines or related field preferred
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry

Responsibilities

• Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms
• Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner
• Fulfills work orders in a timely manner
• Completed daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems
• Perform various other duties as assigned

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of three (2) years in a hotel maintenance position preferred
• Preferred but not necessary, one (1) year of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic math skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
