Job summary

Marriott Norfolk Waterside in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform routine upkeep, respond to work orders, and assist with repairs across hotel facilities. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Good written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Be in proper uniform with nametag and maintain guest relations.
• Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
• Know hotel features, hours, room rates, packages, arrivals/departures, and group activities.
• Know proper maintenance and use of equipment; use tools as intended.
• Review work orders and nightly reports; note problems and safety concerns.
• Schedule work with preventive maintenance; coordinate with Executive Housekeeper and Front Office.
• Assist electricians, carpenters, plumbers and painters in repairs.
• Maintain tools and chemicals; use according to OSHA rules.
• Ensure security of assigned keys; follow department and hotel policies.
