Job summary

Complete Building Services (CBS) in Washington, DC, seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to operate, repair and maintain HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems. Training provided to obtain licenses; weekend work required; salary $22-$26 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities include inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and coordinating with project sub-contractors while delivering strong customer service to clients and building managers.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work all shifts.
• Must be available to be on call 24/7.
• Basic coursework in electrical and HVAC systems.
• Universal CFC/R-410A certification or knowledge.
• Prior hotel experience a plus.
• Able to pass a background check.
• Reliable transportation.
• Able to lift sixty (60) pounds.
• Capable of ascending ladders up to thirty (30) feet.
• Possess excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Daily, weekly and monthly inspections of systems and equipment.
• Perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis.
• Maintain equipment to industry standards.
• Diagnose and repair simple HVAC, plumbing and electrical problems as required.
• Provide assistance to sub-contractors for installation or repair.
• Interface with building manager and client representatives for satisfaction.
• Complete periodic system status reports as directed by supervisor.
• Run wiring, cabling, and ductwork as directed.
• Place or remove systems and equipment as directed.
• Purchase materials and maintain inventory for timely work.

About the Role

The Maintenance Mechanic will perform operations, repairs and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing to equipment within the facility, while acquiring skills and knowledge to complete the training required to obtain licenses. The hours for this position are 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM - must be able to work weekends, Washington, DC. Salary $22-$26 depending on qualifications and experience.

Typical day as a CBS Maintenance Mechanic

• Daily, weekly and monthly inspections of systems and associated equipment
• Perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis
• Maintainequipment to industry standards
• Diagnose and repair simple HVAC, plumbing and electrical problems as required and/or as assigned by supervisor
• Provide assistance and support to sub-contractors designated to perform installation and/or repair of equipment and/or hardware as required
• Interface with building manager and other customer representatives in order to ensure client satisfaction
• Complete daily, weekly and/or monthly reports of system status as directed by supervisor
• Run wiring, cabling, and ductwork, and mount equipment according to specifications as directed
• Place or remove systems and equipment as directed
• Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion
• Perform other duties as assigned
