Job summary

Hyatt Regency Minneapolis is seeking a skilled General Maintenance/Shift Engineer to maintain guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and back of house facilities. You will troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems while delivering exceptional service to guests and colleagues.

Role requires 3+ years in building maintenance; hotel experience preferred. Competitive benefits and a supportive team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of building maintenance experience; hotel experience preferred.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics (preferred).
• Strong troubleshooting and independent work ability.
• Professional communication and guest-service mindset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in tight or elevated spaces.
• Comfortable using ladders, hand tools, and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency repairs in guestrooms and public spaces.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC units, thermostats, motors, and zone valves.
• Complete plumbing repairs including toilets, sinks, tubs, and showers.
• Perform electrical work including switches, sockets, ballasts, and lighting components.
• Maintain and repair doors, locks, safes, and guestroom technology (TVs, phones, iHome units).
• Conduct preventive maintenance using a Windows based work order system.
• Support fire/life safety systems including smoke detectors and panel monitoring.
• Provide professional, timely communication with guests and internal teams.

We're looking for a skilled and motivated General Maintenance / Shift Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for maintaining the functionality, safety, and appearance of all guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and back of house facilities. You'll troubleshoot and repair systems across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and life safety while delivering exceptional service to our guests and colleagues.

Compensation Range: $21 - $28

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency repairs in guestrooms and public spaces

Qualifications
