Job summary

McKibbon Hospitality is seeking a Hotel General Maintenance Technician to support the Chief Engineer in ensuring smooth operation of the hotel. Duties include plumbing, electrical, HVAC, pool maintenance, painting, caulking, and basic construction trades to keep the property safe and well-kept for guests and staff.

You will report to the General Manager and Chief Engineer, performing preventive maintenance and repairs while following safety protocols and McKibbon’s guiding principles.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a maintenance-type role.
• Ability to communicate operational activities, priorities, and issues with management engineers and supervisors.
• Knowledge of common causes of equipment malfunction and preventive maintenance methods.
• Ability to repair and replace basic heating and air conditioning systems.
• Basic painting, caulking, and carpentry skills.
• Ability to use standard hand tools and electrical measurement devices.
• Experience with pool/spa chemicals and fire equipment handling is a plus.

The Hotel General Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper operation of the hotel as a support role to the Chief Engineer. From plumbing and electrical systems to HVAC and pool maintenance, you assist with general facility upkeep. Reporting to the General Manager and Chief Engineer, you are expected to deliver high-quality work that minimizes disruption to guests. You bring experience in basic construction trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, basic heating and air conditioning, swimming pool maintenance, painting, caulking, and related skills.
