Guest Service Manager or Assistant General Manager

Summary

Responsible for performing a variety of guest service activities while providing the highest level of service possible.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests.
  • Answer telephone and handle guest inquiries.
  • Post charges, compute bills, collect payments, and make change.
  • Make and confirm reservations, monitor room availability, and block rooms.
  • Program wake-up calls and handle guest mail/messages.
  • Perform check-out services and manage shift cash drops.
  • Maintain the market stock and coffee area.
  • Provide information about hotel services and local area directions.
  • Assist in maintaining lobby cleanliness and report maintenance deficiencies.
  • Schedule shuttle runs and provide transportation if applicable.
  • Perform laundry duties and maintain breakfast area.

Requirements
Education and Experience

One to three months related experience/training; High school diploma or GED preferred.

Computer Skills

Basic knowledge of internet, Microsoft Excel, and Word.

Language Skills

Ability to interpret documents, write reports, and communicate effectively.

Certificates & Licenses

Valid New York State Driver's License with no major violations (for select properties).

Mathematical Skills

Basic arithmetic, rates, ratios, and percentages.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
Work Environment

Moderate noise, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and dust, with public interaction.

Salary

$16-$18/hour
