Job summary

Highgate is seeking an Engineering professional to manage day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department at the hotel, stepping in for the Director as needed. You will oversee maintenance planning, safety compliance, and energy programs, coordinating with staff to keep the property in top condition.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or equivalent, at least three years in a hotel or related field, and proven supervisory skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Trade school / college coursework in a related field preferred.
• Previous supervisory skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets.
• Ensure hotel compliance with local, state and federal laws.
• Inspect, test and certify emergency and life safety equipment per standards.
• Supervise engineers and train staff in customer service and SOPs.
• Participate in energy conservation programs per Highgate standards.
• Review guest comments to identify and correct issues promptly.
• Assist with vendor contracts and budgeting for engineering.
• Develop financial forecasts and participate in monthly profit/loss reviews.
• Schedule preventive maintenance tasks.
