Job summary

Opal Hotels Group is seeking a Chief Engineer for TownePlace Suites Kernersville to lead hotel maintenance ensuring safety and smooth operations for guests. You will supervise preventive maintenance, manage repairs, and uphold brand standards across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, 1+ year hotel maintenance experience, and fluent English; CPO certification is preferred if a pool is present.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or related vocational training.
• At least 1 year maintenance experience in hotels.
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
• Fluent English; other languages preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC/PTAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• CPO certification – if the hotel has a pool, ideal.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance programs for guest comfort and safety.
• Perform repairs and recommend improvements to mechanical/electrical systems.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area.
• Respond to guest repair requests and coordinate with operations.
• Test and troubleshoot equipment including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
