Job summary

Peppermill Reno is seeking a Hotel Engineer to maintain cosmetics repairs and preventative maintenance across the property. The role requires strong organization, safety awareness, and the ability to work with the engineering team.

Key duties include coordinating with housekeeping, ordering parts, and handling multiple priorities while keeping work areas clean and safe. Experience in casino or commercial properties is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC.
• Casino maintenance experience or commercial properties preferred.
• Organized, flexible, able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with hotel guests in a friendly and pleasant manner.
• Perform cosmetics repairs and preventative maintenance on property.
• Clean up after each job and return tools to storage areas.
• Coordinate with housekeeping to block/unblock areas as needed.
• Order parts required for stock replenishment.

Duties

• Must be able to communicate with hotel guests and always be friendly and pleasant.
• Do not disturb room amenities or linen in any room. Do not use towels for rags.
• Must clean up after each job performed and return all tools and materials to proper storage areas.
• Keep in contact with housekeeping department, block and unblock as needed.
• Order all parts needed for stock.
• Must use all safety equipment as required.
• Must be safety minded and respond to hazards immediately.
• Assist and perform related duties in all areas of the Engineering Department as needed.
• Keep all work areas clean.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school equivalent required.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
• Must have an excellent knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and heating and air conditioning.
• Previous casino maintenance experience or commercial properties preferred.
• Be organized, flexible and able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Must have the ability to fully understand directions and read and write English language.
• The ability to stand, walk and bend for long periods of time and be able to lift 50 pounds comfortably.
