Job summary

Memphis Marriott East is seeking a part-time sanitation aide (dishwasher) to join our kitchen team. The role focuses on dishwashing, pot washing, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

The position requires reliability, the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and strong teamwork to ensure guest experiences meet our standards. Physical requirements include standing, walking, and lifting items as needed.

• Ability to work in a standard office environment.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (6-8 hours a day).
• Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.
• Fine motor skills for keyboarding/typing, mouse use, writing, and operating office equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.
• Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds as needed (files, office supplies).
• Visual acuity to read screens and printed materials, with color differentiation.
• Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use phone/headset.

Responsibilities

• Use established guidelines to correctly utilize and maintain the dish machine; wash glasses and dishes in standard dish rack.
• Wash pots and pans in the pot washer's area.
• Keep the kitchen neat and clean at all times; sweep, mop, and clean spills.
• Empty full and heavy trash cans and sanitize after use; replace bags.
• Follow all MSDS protocols and safety guidelines.
• Assist with plating banquet events and other kitchen duties as needed.
