Job summary

LEFT LANE is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead engineering operations for Hotel Bardo Savannah and the upcoming Recess Hotel & Club Savannah. The role requires hands-on leadership of daily maintenance, facilities, and life-safety systems, with collaboration across the Savannah portfolio.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in hotel engineering, 2+ years in leadership, and is highly organized with strong administrative skills. This onsite role is in Savannah, GA and sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in progressive hotel/resort engineering or maintenance roles.
• Two+ years in hotel engineering leadership (Chief/Assistant Chief Engineer or similar).
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems.
• Experience leading hourly teams, managing vendors and emergencies.
• Administrative skills: budgeting, purchasing, reporting, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily engineering, maintenance, facilities, and life-safety operations for an assigned property.
• Supervise, schedule, train, and develop engineering staff.
• Oversee preventive maintenance for rooms, spaces, kitchens, pools, and back-of-house areas.
• Maintain building systems and manage logs, permits, and reports.
• Respond quickly to guest-impacting issues or facilities emergencies.
• Collaborate with hotel leadership to support operations and guest experience.
• Manage vendors, purchasing, inventory, and department expenses.
• Support capital projects and property improvements.
