The Hotel Breakfast Attendant is responsible for providing the highest quality of service possible to guests in an efficient and courteous manner within the complimentary breakfast area of a hotel. In addition, this individual shall be well-versed on the hotel-brand standards, guest expectations, and the unique characteristics of the hotel and local area.
Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must meet the legal age to serve alcoholic beverages and pass responsible serving courses such as TIPs, as required by the property.
- Ability to obtain and provide a Food Handlers card as required by local regulations.
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Handle stressful situations in a calm, professional manner.
- Understanding of hotel products and guest services.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and a desire to serve others, including willingness to learn new tasks, support team members, and respond positively to guests and co-workers.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
- Ability to produce high-quality drinks, including specialty coffee, tea, cocktails, and other beverage requests.
- Basic numerical skills: counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, memos, and correspondence.
- Effective communication skills with internal and external customers and staff, demonstrating patience, tact, and diplomacy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Approach all interactions with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance as per Aimbridge Hospitality standards and hotel needs.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
- Comply with all Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations.
- Service guests with food and beverage requirements professionally; enhance guest experience.
- Greet and seat guests promptly.
- Ensure menu quality and cleanliness.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables and hotel spaces as needed.
- Stock and organize bar and service areas; complete side work each shift.
- Handle special guest requests or offer alternatives.
- Coordinate with departments regarding VIPs and special needs.
- Support all food and beverage service tasks, including dishwashing, restocking, cleaning, and trash removal.
- Answer phone calls according to standards.
- Know standards for room service orders.
- Be familiar with menus and specials.
- Perform cashiering duties at shift end.
- Follow opening and closing procedures and station duties.
- Answer questions about the hotel, local area, and hotel standards.
- Perform other duties or attend meetings as requested by management.
