Job summary

Interstate Batteries is seeking a dedicated Hot Shot Driver to deliver batteries to dealers and assist with warehouse operations. You will execute assigned routes, load and unload goods, and support Route Managers while upholding safety standards and professional service.

The role emphasizes accurate reporting, teamwork, and compliance with all driving program requirements. A valid driver’s license and ability to operate a forklift are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and do basic math.
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems.
• Knowledge of inventory management tools (tablets, scanners).
• Clean driving record and meet driver qualifications.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or forklift.

Responsibilities

• Run the Hot Shots and assigned routes on a timely basis as needed.
• Load and unload batteries.
• Deliver batteries to customers in a timely, safe, and professional manner.
• Follow Environmental Health and Safety rules and policies.
• Interact professionally with team members, managers, and customers.
• Perform general warehousing duties as assigned by management.

Job Description

Purpose of Job:

The Hot Shot Driver delivers batteries to dealers when requested. They also assist with warehouse operations and assist Route Managers.

Job Components:

• Run the Hot Shots and assigned routes on a timely basis as needed
• Load and unload batteries
• General warehousingduties asassigned by management, including assisting customers
• Deliver batteries to customers ona timelybasis and in a safe and professional manner
• Follow all Environmental Health and Safety rules and policies
• Ensure batteries are charged,cleanedand dated, and that stock is rewrapped after rotation
• Accurately complete reports and claims
• Interact professionally with all stakeholders including team members,managersand customers
• Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager
• Perform otherduties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write, and do basic math
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required
• Working knowledge of electronic inventory management tools is required (tablets, scanners).
• Must have a clean drivers record AND meet driver qualifications requirements
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or forklift

Scope Data:

• Works under general supervision and guidance
• Accountable forgeneral warehouse duties and backup driving responsibilities, in addition to occasional front counter customer service.
• Operate with integrity and demonstrate a positive attitude

Work Environment:

• Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
• Repetitive lifting.
• Consistent sitting, standing and walking
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs
• Exposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle
• Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required
