Job summary

Interstate Batteries is seeking a Hot Shot Driver to deliver batteries to dealers and support daily warehouse operations in a safe, efficient manner. You will also assist Route Managers and interact with customers, teammates, and supervisors to ensure timely service.

The role emphasizes accuracy in reporting, compliance with EH&S rules, and readiness to perform additional duties as assigned. A valid driving record and forklift ability are required.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and perform basic math accurately.
• Working knowledge of computers and systems required.
• Experience with electronic inventory tools is preferred (tablets/scanners).
• Must have a clean driving record and meet driver qualifications.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or forklift.

Responsibilities

• Run the Hot Shots and assigned routes on a timely basis as needed.
• Load and unload batteries.
• General warehousing duties as assigned by management, including assisting customers.
• Deliver batteries to customers on a timely basis and in a safe and professional manner.
• Follow all Environmental Health and Safety rules and policies.
• Ensure batteries are charged, cleaned and dated, and that stock is rewrapped after rotation.
• Accurately complete reports and claims.
• Interact professionally with all stakeholders including team members, managers and customers.
• Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Purpose of Job

The Hot Shot Driver delivers batteries to dealers when requested.They also assist with warehouse operations and assist Route Managers.

Job Components

• Run the Hot Shots and assigned routes on a timely basis as needed

Work Environment

Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk. Repetitive lifting. Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs Exposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required
