Job summary

Fisher Industries in Florence, AZ is seeking a Hot Plant Mechanic to maintain, repair and troubleshoot asphalt plant equipment, including conveyors, dryers, and crushers. The role may require travel to Queen Creek, AZ, and occasional out-of-town work.

You will perform preventive maintenance, welding and fabrication, diagnose issues, and ensure safe operations per OSHA/MSHA. A high school diploma and own tools are required, with a valid license and ability to work in a team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Own tools: wrenches, ratchet & sockets from 1-1/2" down, impact, grinder (at least 4 1/2"), and welding hood & gloves.
• Previous Crushing Plant maintenance experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
• Experience with stick welding, fabricating materials, and cutting torch.
• General knowledge of hot mix asphalt business and operations.
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
• Requires lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and working in various weather conditions.
• Commitment to safety procedures.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate with plant personnel.
• Ability to input data into computer systems for production and maintenance.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable MVR.
• May require two weeks working out of town.

POSITION SCOPE

The Hot Plant Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting all mechanical equipment within an asphalt plant. This includes tasks like diagnosing problems, performing repairs, welding, and conducting preventative maintenance on various plant components like conveyors, dryers, and more. They also ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently, often working as part of a team and sometimes requiring on-call availability.

This position is for our Florence, AZ location but will also work in Queen Creek, AZ.

Primary Duties

• Change Gearboxes, Work on conveyor belts, Bearings and Rollers, etc.
• Diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding asphalt plant and crusher systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components
• Welding, cutting, and fabricating metal parts for plant equipment
• Ensuring a safe work environment by complying with all safety policies and procedures, including OSHA/MSHA regulations
• Must be capable of troubleshooting plant operational problems
• Performing routine maintenance tasks like lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of equipment
• Identifying and resolving mechanical and operational issues with plant equipment
• Maintain plant files and records
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
