Job summary

CEVA Logistics is seeking a Dock/Equipment Operator to move vehicles, trailers and freight in a fast-paced dock and yard environment. You will load/unload, verify cargo, document receipts and manage yard movement with safety as a priority.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, 3+ years driving experience, Class C license, and forklift certification. Excellent teamwork and reliability are essential in this role, with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of industry driving experience; 6 months related experience acceptable.
  • Valid state Class C Driver's License; clean driving record per DOT/TSA policies.
  • Forklift certification and DOT Hazmat/DG certifications are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service at all times.
  • Move freight using manual equipment or forklift and verify cargo counts and condition.
  • Label and route cargo to destination and document receipts.
  • Shuttle trailers and transport freight to designated areas; secure and bundle as needed.
  • Maintain clean work area and inspect trailers before use.

Pay Range: $16.43 - $20.54

YOUR ROLE

Are you known for your equipment operation skills? Are you passionate about safety? If so, we have an opportunity that would allow you to move vehicles, trailers and flatbeds to and from dock and yard area to assist with loading, unloading and yard utilization in a safe and efficient manner.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
  • Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
  • Manage loading and unloading freight by hand or by using manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack or forklift. Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received, knowing when to refuse or accept with notation. Record receipts to appropriate forms and/or log books. Verify that proper documentation is attached.
  • Sort cargo received by account or intended location and store in proper location. Accurately label freight to destination.
  • Shuttle empty and full trailers within dock area and parking lots. Transport freight from storage dock area or trailers to designated area. Secure lifting attachments to freight to move to assigned location. Stack or assemble freight into bundles and band bundles together on pallets.
  • Maintain clean work area. Clean out trailers if needed prior to moving them.
  • May be required to perform post or pre-load inspections on trailers and document condition of equipment and trailers before re-use or reloading.
  • Verify and report damages as discovered. Perform daily yard check.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • Education and Experience:High School Graduate or GED. Minimum 3years industry driving experiencemay be substituted for a high school diploma or GED.Minimum 6 months related experience.
  • Credentials:Valid state issued Class CDriver's License issued by the driver's home state of residence. Acceptable driving record as defined byDOT regulations, TSA regulations and Company policy. Forklift Driver Certification. DOT Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials Certification.
  • Skills:PC Literate. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to operate various yard equipment. Understanding of safety rules that apply to dock and warehouse operations.
  • Characteristics:Ability to read, comprehend, and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs.
