Job summary

Paradies Lagardère is seeking a Host in a fast-paced dining environment in Austin, TX. You will greet guests, manage seating with the front-of-house team, and assist servers and runners to ensure a memorable guest experience.

The role requires excellent customer service, the ability to work in a high-energy setting, and strong English communication. A high school diploma or GED is required, with prior food and beverage experience preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain store appearance with respect to merchandising and maintaince standards.
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines; comply with all applicable laws.
• Responds appropriately to customer concerns.
• Ensures a clean, sanitized, and well-stocked host stand.
• Assist servers and food runners, as needed. Must be able to maneuver heavy trays of food.
• Ability to take direction and collaborate in a team environment
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Food and Beverage experience in a full service setting is preferred but not required.
• Ability to take direction and collaborate in a team environment.
• Ability to work in a high energy and demanding environment.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as with other team members.
• Able to work unsupervised for extensive periods, and to demonstrate good judgment when dealing with customers and peers

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to work various shifts in a 7/365 team-oriented environment.
• Excellent customer service skills and an ability to communicate effectively, in English.
• Strong self-motivation, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Positive interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter able to prioritize and handle various tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
• Proficiency required in reading, writing, and mathematics, in English.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. perform essential job functions such as standing, bending, reaching, climbing on a ladder, and walking long distances.
• Standing for long periods of time and the ability to work in an environment with varying temperatures.
