Job summary

The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated is hiring a part-time Host in Valley Stream, NY. You will warmly greet guests, seat them using the floor plan, and manage waitlists and reservations to ensure a smooth flow and great first impression.

Ideal candidates bring hospitality or guest service experience, strong communication, and a reliable work ethic. You will join a busy, welcoming team focused on excellent service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant, hospitality or customer service preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused mindset.
• Dependable, punctual and able to work in a fast-paced team.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet guests to set a positive first impression.
• Use a floor plan and seating rotation to assign tables for guest satisfaction.
• Provide accurate wait times and manage reservations for smooth flow.
• Support front of house operations and teamwork to enhance the guest experience.
• Answer phones promptly and assist guests with general questions.

What You'll Do

• Warmly greet guests creating a positive first impression
• Use a floor plan and follow a seating rotation to assign tables promoting guest satisfaction
• Provide accurately quoted wait times while managing reservations to support smooth guest flow
• You’ll play an important role in front of house operations, supporting teamwork to enhance the overall guest experience
• Answer phones with a sense of urgency, helping guests with general questions
• Follow instructions with attention to detail and consistency
• Demonstrate ownership of sidework and closing tasks
• Multitask and work well under pressure while maintaining cleanliness and organization
• Work with speed and efficiency in a fast paced, full-service restaurant

Your Background

• Previous restaurant, hospitality, customer service, or food service industry experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on guest service
• Dependable, dedicated, reliable, and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Adaptable and patient, taking pride in providing excellent guest relations
• Team player with a positive, patient attitude
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, stand for extended periods, continuously bend, reach and twist
• Must be at least 18 years old
