Restaurant 604 in Hawaii seeks an enthusiastic host to greet guests, manage the host station, seat guests, and maintain waitlists with precision. You will also handle reservations and phone orders, bussing, and table resets while upholding service standards and accuracy in POS entries.

Your role emphasizes quick seating, friendly service, and teamwork to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests and a positive work environment for the Ohana.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must be able to read and communicate in English clearly and effectively.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds repeatedly, throughout the shift.
• Must demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Must be efficient and accurate with money and figures.
• Must possess the manual ability to manipulate the register system and handle/serve food.
• Must have a valid health card or equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Follows all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook and the “General Policies and Procedures” section of the Host Training Manual.
• Maintains a positive attendance record by reporting to work for assigned shifts 10 minutes prior to scheduled time, switching and finding replacements for no more than 5% of scheduled shifts, following company time off and illness procedures, and having a 0% No call/no show record.
• Follows all sanitation and safety standards and maintains high sanitation scores.
• Maintains uniform, appearance, and grooming standards as specified in the Employee Handbook and Host Training Manual.
• Maintains guest service philosophy and a low guest complaint ratio.
• Knows all menu items and explains specials to guests; answers questions about preparation, ingredients, portions, and substitutions.
• Observes table numbering procedures and assigns sections accurately.
• Conducts a first greet with guests within 30 seconds of entering the restaurant.
• Seating guests within 3 minutes of their scheduled reservation time.
• Performs menu merchandising by listing specials, suggesting items, and upselling when appropriate.
• Legibly completes phone-in or take-out checks and enters orders into POS with accuracy.
• Picks up orders and delivers to take-out customers per procedures.
• Performs side work duties as documented in training manual.
• Follows end-of-shift checkout procedures with accuracy as per manual.
• Follows alcohol serving procedures with accuracy.
• Busses, sets, and resets tables within 3 minutes of guests leaving.
• Supports team members with station duties and side work when needed.
• Maintains waitlist and seats guests within 3 minutes of wait time.
• Communicates reservations for large parties to management and kitchen staff.
• Accommodates special seating requests when possible.
• Seats guests based on preferences and balance of customer flow.
• Upon seating, offers menus and informs guests of server names.

Job Summary

Greet guests in a courteous, helpful, and prompt manner. Responsible for running the host station, including seating guests, maintaining the floor chart, fairly distributing guests among server sections, maintaining the waitlist, taking reservations and phone orders, bussing and resetting tables, and monitoring table rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follows all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook and the “General Policies and Procedures” section of the Host Training Manual.
• Maintains a positive attendance record by reporting to work for assigned shifts 10 minutes prior to scheduled time, switching and finding replacements for no more than 5% of scheduled shifts, following company time off and illness procedures, and having a 0% No call/no show record.
• Follows all sanitation and safety standards set forth by the company; maintains a score of 90% or better on all sanitation and safety audits.
• Meets all uniform, appearance, and grooming standards as specified in the Employee Handbook and Host Training Manual.
• Maintains our guest service philosophy by following guest service standards; maintains a customer complaint ratio of less than 1 per 100 customers served.
• Knows all menu items offered at the restaurant. Accurately explains specials to guests. If asked, accurately answers menu items concerning preparation method, ingredients, portion size, and side items accompanying the dish. If asked, specifies substitutions for items on the menu.
• Observes table numbering procedures and properly assign sections 100% of the time.
• Conducts a first greet with guests within 30 seconds of guests entering the restaurant.
• Seat guests within 3 minutes of their scheduled reservation time.
• Performs menu merchandising procedures accurately by listing and explaining the specials, suggesting items, and upselling when appropriate.
• Legibly completes phone-in or take-out guest checks and accurately enters orders into the POS system following company procedures with 100% accuracy.
• Picks up orders and Bite Squad, GrubHub and completes take-out preparation correctly as specified by take-out procedures.
• Performs side work duties correctly as specified in the “Side work Duties” section of the Host Training Manual.
• Follows all end-of-shift checkout procedures with 100% accuracy as specified in the “End of Shift/Checkout Procedures” section of the Host Training Manual and outlined by the company.
• Follows the alcohol serving procedures in regard to beverage service standards, awareness standards, and government regulations with 100% accuracy.
• Busses, sets, and resets tables following company procedures within 3 minutes of guests leaving their tables.
• Maintains a good team environment by assisting other team members with their station duties and side work when there is a need and/or when available.
• Maintains a waitlist when immediate seating is limited and seat guests within 3 minutes of the given wait time.
• Communicates reservations for large parties to management and kitchen staff to ensure readiness 100% of the time.
• Accommodates special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
• Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.
• Upon seating, offers guests menus and informs them of their server names 100% of the time.
