Job summary

The Big Biscuit is seeking a friendly host to welcome guests and manage the dining room flow during daytime breakfast and lunch hours. This role emphasizes delivering excellent guest service, maintaining a clean host stand, and coordinating seating with servers and managers.

Weekend and holiday shifts are required, making it ideal for part-time candidates seeking additional daytime work. Safety and sanitation standards are a priority in this fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly with a warm, friendly attitude
• Manage the waitlist, quote accurate wait times, and communicate seating flow to servers and managers
• Escort guests to tables and ensure menus, silverware, and seating areas are clean and ready
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entryway, and lobby areas
• Answer phones, take to‑go orders accurately, and assist with curbside pickup when needed
• Communicate table availability and rotation to support fair and efficient seating
• Assist with bussing and resetting tables during peak times
• Provide helpful, positive interactions with guests throughout their visit
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
• Support the front‑of‑house team with any additional tasks needed to keep service running smoothly

Enjoy a daytime schedule; our hours of business are from 6:30 am -2:30 pm.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Greet guests promptly with a warm, friendly attitude
• Manage the waitlist, quote accurate wait times, and communicate seating flow to servers and managers
• Escort guests to tables and ensure menus, silverware, and seating areas are clean and ready
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entryway, and lobby areas

Physical & Lifting Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift (typically 4–8 hours)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds (menus, highchairs, booster seats, cleaning supplies)
• Frequent bending, reaching, and moving through a busy dining room
• Ability to navigate tight spaces while escorting guests

Work Environment

• High‑volume breakfast and lunch service
• Frequent exposure to cleaning supplies, hot plates, and busy guest areas
• Requires teamwork, communication, and a positive, service‑oriented mindset.
