Presque Isle Downs & Casino in Erie, PA is hiring a Host/Hostess to set the tone of an unforgettable dining experience. You will greet guests, manage seating, take reservations, and ensure smooth restaurant operations with exceptional hospitality.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent (hospitality experience preferred) and can obtain the necessary licenses. You will work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events in a busy casino dining environment.

Qualifications

• Language ability to read and interpret documents; speak effectively before groups.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Candidate must be able to obtain appropriate licensing.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, manage seating and reservations, and ensure smooth dining operations.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu and restaurant layout.
• Communicate guest compliments or complaints to management.
• Maintain a positive, friendly demeanor and strong communication with guests.
• Assist in restaurant as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

Candidate acts as a host/hostess for the restaurant by taking reservations, greeting guests and seating guests in a positive friendly manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintains full knowledge of restaurant lay-out and seats patrons based off of specific layout.


• Maintains a thorough knowledge of menu items.


• Communicates to management in a timely fashion any guest compliments or complaints.


• Candidate must maintain a positive and friendly demeanor, have excellent communication skills and be able to work with the public in a large dining room.


• Candidate will assist in restaurant as needed and will perform all other duties as assigned.


• Will work nights, weekends, holidays and special events.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. One year of food or hospitality service experience preferred.
