Cornerstone Restaurant Group (CRG) seeks a friendly Host for Dimmi Dimmi in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood. The role focuses on greeting guests, managing reservations, and guiding guests to seating while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

You will handle payments, assist with opening tasks, and support take-out orders when needed, contributing to a smooth dining experience and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school education or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests upon arrival, according to restaurant standards.
• Answer telephone communications and take reservations.
• Maintain an accurate waiting list as needed, and alert guests when their table is available.
• Receive payments and process transactions according to established policies and procedures.
• Complete all opening/closing paperwork, perform side-work.
• This role may process take-out orders; practice selling-up techniques.
• May routinely clear and reset tables and assist with opening tasks such as assigning stations to servers.
• Ensure that wait staff stations are clean and maintained throughout the shift.
• Ensure that all menus are checked and cleaned; inform manager if more menus are needed.
• Conduct cleaning and/or reorganization projects as necessary.
• You may also be asked to handle guest complaints/special requests and assist with other duties as assigned

Cornerstone Restaurant Group (CRG), based in Fulton Market, is seeking a talented Hosts to support CRG’s newest restaurant, Dimmi Dimmi, nestled in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The restaurant features 70 seats inside, with an additional 40 seats outside during patio season.

With Dimmi Dimmi Corner Italian, CRG is reimagining the iconic neighborhood Italian spot with bold red-sauce staples, classic cocktails, and a warm, buzzing vibe. It’s where timeless tradition meets modern energy, brought to life with heartfelt hospitality and moments made to share.

The culinary team is led by Executive Chef Matthew Eckfeld, who honed his expertise in Italian cuisine at New York’s celebrated Carbone and other iconic Major Food Group restaurants. Our pastry program is guided by consultant Casey Doody, a French Pastry School alum and former Director of Pastry at the renowned Boka Group.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age

• Ability to deal with guests in a professional manner while maintaining a composed demeanor in high stress situations

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to frequently go up and down stairs throughout shift while carrying up to 25 pounds
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds on a regular basis
• Frequent long periods of standing and walking are expected during the workday
• Ability to reach for objects and stoop or bend as needed to perform job duties
• This position may involve visual and auditory tasks, including the ability to see and hear adequately to perform job functions
