Summary of Position

Host responsibilities include greeting guests, providing accurate wait times, escorting customers to the dining and bar areas. The role requires solid organizational and people skills to ensure a positive dining experience from arrival to departure, and the ability to work shifts and maintain a clean work area.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Welcome guests to the restaurant with a smile.
• Provide accurate wait times, monitor waiting lists and manage guest reservations.
• Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas.
• Provide menus to guests and announce server’s name.
• Greet customers upon departure.
• Coordinate with management about available seating options by updating table statuses on the tablet regularly.
• Maintain a clean reception area and host stand.
• Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly).
• Answer incoming calls and address customer queries.
• Assist management or server staff when necessary.

Physical Demands

• Must be in good physical condition to walk or stand throughout the shift.
• Extensive walking, standing, bending, and reaching required.
• Grasping and fine manipulation using hands required.
• Ability to work up to 8-10 hours per day.

Other Requirements

• Must have a current food handler’s card, RBS card (if over 18 years of age).
• California workplace harassment training and/or any additional training required by law.

Compensation

$16.50 per hour
