Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Kitchen Steward to support our culinary teams in Fort Worth. This role maintains cleanliness across kitchens and support areas, assists with proper food storage and rotation, and ensures sanitation of equipment and surfaces.

You will handle heavy cleaning tasks, operate dishwashing equipment, and help with inventory and safety procedures throughout the shift. The position requires physical stamina, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to multitask in

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; hotel or related field experience preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Heavy work ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand during the entire shift.
• Able to withstand temperature variations (hot and cold).
• Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
• Able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in all kitchens, back dock, dumpster, and utility areas.
• Perform heavy cleaning of ovens, grills, sinks, walls, floors, walk-in refrigerators and freezers.
• Wash pots, pans, and kitchen utensils following proper sanitation procedures.
• Sweep, mop, and wash floors in food and beverage areas, kitchen, restaurant and dock areas.
• Keep management informed of equipment and supply shortages.
• Operate dishwashing equipment to ensure all china, glass, and silver are clean and sanitized.
• Return clean china, glass, and silver to proper storage with care to minimize breakage.
• Follow safe handling techniques for all chemicals used.
• Report faulty equipment to management immediately.
• Follow procedures for breakdown, cleaning, and reassembly of kitchen equipment as needed.
• Follow all sanitation standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
