Job summary

Mercy Hospital of Buffalo is seeking a Hospitality Associate Dietary MHB to join our dietary service team in Buffalo, NY. This role provides patient meals, assists with menu selections, and performs related duties in a professional dining environment.

Shifts are evenings with weekend and holiday rotation; part-time with benefits. Hours are 4:00pm-8:00pm. Prior hospital food service experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Hospital or healthcare experience preferred.
• One year experience in food service operation preferred.
• One year experience in customer service preferred.
• Ability to read and write English; good communication and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to patients and visitors in a professional and efficient manner.
• Inform patients of meal and menu practices and obtain meal preferences.
• Replenish floor stock items and deliver enteral formulas to nursing units.

Summary:

Promotes and maintains a positive service culture. Performs a variety of duties to include serving meals to patients and visitors in a professional and efficient manner. Informs patients of meal and menu practices and obtains meal preferences and selections, if applicable. Replenishes floor stock items in nursing unit pantries and delivers enteral formulas for patients to nursing units. Performs other tasks as related to patient meal service as assigned. Adheres to safe food handling procedures. Adheres to the Values in Practice initiatives.

EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE

• Hospital or Healthcare experience preferred
• One (1) year experience in food service operation preferred
