Job summary

DLR Group's Overland Park Office is seeking an Architect to lead the day-to-day design and technical development of projects, coordinating documentation with our integrated design team and ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and work plans.

You will partner with the Project Manager to maintain project health, guide cross-functional disciplines, and deliver high-quality, innovative design solutions while actively contributing in client presentations and reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture; licensure required.
• Ten years of professional architecture experience.
• Licensure required; LEED AP and other certifications are a plus but not required.
• Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, SketchUp, Rendering Software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Suite.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to multitask and maintain quality standards.
• Demonstrates initiative, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative and technically sound design solutions for projects.
• Coordinate project drawings, specifications, and documentation with the project team.
• Lead collaboration within project teams, generating design ideas and solutions.
• Apply advanced architectural concepts to complex assignments and new techniques.
• Integrate QA/QC procedures and practice standards into deliverables.

Position Summary

As a key contributor to our design team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day design and technical development of projects. You will coordinate all aspects of project documentation and delivery, working closely with our integrated design team to produce high-quality work while ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and work plans.

As part of our integrated design team, you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design. You will partner directly with the Project Manager to ensure the financial health of the project, the quality of project documents, claim prevention, team collaboration and communication. Additionally, you will lead the cross-functional design disciplines in developing technical solutions.

What You Will Do

• Participate in client presentations and contribute to successful project outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (Graduate degree not required unless mandated by local licensure regulations)
• Minimum of ten years of professional experience in architecture
• Professional licensure required; LEED AP and other certifications preferred but not required
• Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, SketchUp, Rendering Software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Suite
• Competent in technical design, with the ability to investigate, evaluate, and recommend solutions that meet client needs
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to multitask and maintain quality standards
• Demonstrates initiative, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous learning
