As the county seat of Horry County, South Carolina, Conway is part of the Myrtle Beach metropolitan area and home of Coastal Carolina University. Numerous buildings and structures in Conway are on the National Register of Historic Places, including the City Hall building, reputedly designed by Robert Mills, architect of the Washington Monument. Conway Medical Center is a trusted leader in healthcare and has served the medical needs of Horry County and surrounding communities for nearly a century. This non‑profit medical center's roots run deep in Horry County. Today, Conway Medical Center has 210 inpatient beds and is one of the county's largest employers with over 1500 staff members.
