Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate charting and billing in EPIC system.
• Provide direct treatment including medications, referrals, and follow-ups.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Hospitalist Physician

As our Hospitalist, you will join our dynamic healthcare team in Lakewood, Washington. We specialize in admitting, rounding, and discharge procedures, minimizing patient length of stay (LOS) and reducing 30-day readmission rates.

Every day you will provide compassionate and expert care, conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the well-being of our patients within Virginia Mason Franciscan Health.

To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled and compassionate physician, possessing expertise in diagnosing and managing complex diseases, alongside strong communication abilities. You will also demonstrate a deep commitment to patient-centered care and the capacity to thrive within a collegial and supportive environment.

• Manage and evaluate acute and chronic conditions, ensuring adherence to evidence-based clinical protocols.
• Assess and treat acute clinical deteriorations (e.g., sepsis, respiratory distress) and provide cross-coverage for the daytime hospitalist team.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including specialists, nurse care coordinators, and social workers to ensure seamless, high-quality patient care.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant medical charting and billing records using the hospital's EPIC system.
• Provide and document direct treatment for patients, including ordering medications, referrals, and following up on specialist consultations.
• 182 - 10 hour shifts per year.
• Compensation ranges from $308,000 - $336,000 /year.

We are offering a base salary, wRVU productivity, and an annual bonus incentive. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance is available.

Job Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO)
• Active, unrestricted license in the state of Washington
• Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for the specific practice
• Strong clinical diagnostic skills
