Job summary

VA Salem Healthcare System is seeking a Physician - Hospitalist/Nocturnist to provide inpatient care for Veterans in Internal Medicine and Acute Care. The role is based at the Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, Virginia, within the VA Salem Healthcare System. The ideal candidate will hold an MD with completed Internal Medicine residency, possess an unrestricted U.S.

medical license, and be board-certified or eligible in ABMS/AOA specialties. A Nocturnist with 3+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• MD degree from an approved school
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Residency training approved by GME bodies (ACGME/AOA) leading to board eligibility

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new admissions with H&P or short-form admission note.
• Supervise residents, students, and fellows.
• Provide general medical consultation to Surgery and Mental Health services as needed.
