Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) in Boise, Idaho, is seeking a Hospitalist to join a physician-led multispecialty team within a major regional center. You will manage a high-acuity inpatient service, round on 14–18 patients daily, and teach residents in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate holds an MD/DO, boards in Internal Medicine, and Idaho licensure, with privileges at SARMC. This is a full-time employed position with strong subspecialist support.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with ABIM/AOBIM board status.
• Completion of an ACGME Internal Medicine residency; family medicine with hospitalist training acceptable.
• Active Idaho medical licensure and DEA registration.
• Granting privileges at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC).
• Commitment to multi-disciplinary team approach and resident teaching.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-acuity medical service with 14-18 patient encounters daily.

Job description

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led 800+ provider multispecialty group with an excellent opportunity for a Hospitalist to join its growing group in Boise, Idaho. Join 32 physicians and 12 APPs in managing a high acuity medical service at a 381-bed regional medical center.

With a typical patient population of 40% adult and 60% geriatric, hospitalists see patients with CHF, pneumonia, COPD, pancreatitis, stroke, neurologic conditions, geriatric fractures as well as other general medical conditions. Rounding typically involves 14-18 patient encounters per day.

Saint Alphonsus is the regions principal provider of advanced, innovative and interdisciplinary critical care services, so candidates must be committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach. It is also the regions only ACS verified Level II Trauma Center. Hospitalists are the primary admitting service for the vast majority of primary care providers in the Saint Alphonsus Network.

The ideal candidate will have a strong internal medicine or family medicine background with Hospitalist training and a desire to develop a practice in support of a growing multi-specialty medical group. Hospitalists also take part in teaching residents.

24/7 in-house Imaging/Radiology; Intensivists; Hospitalists enjoy the support of a broad spectrum of subspecialists from SAMG and the broad medical community.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
• Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency program, family medicine residency with hospitalist training will also be considered.
• Board certification through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) - or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment.
• Obtain Idaho medical licensure, valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
• Granting privileges at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC)
