Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Hospitalist in Towson, MD for a full-time role. The physician will partner with nurse managers, lead quality initiatives, and help implement new care pathways to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of hospitalist leadership in a group setting and board certification in Internal Medicine. The role involves collaboration across clinical teams and participation in Joint Commission readiness.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical program.
• Minimum of 5 years of hospitalist experience with leadership in group practice.
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
• Strong knowledge of hospital-based physician practice.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Clinical Nurse Manager(s) to assess progress on goals and work on areas where physician engagement is required to meet goals.
• Championing of meaningful change and developing new processes to improve efficiency and patient care.
• Soliciting and communicating feedback among physicians, nursing staff, patients and administration with the Nurse Manager.
• Consensus building between physicians, nursing staff, and administration with the Nurse Manager.
• Review long length of stay patients with the Clinical Nurse Manager and coordinate dispositions with attending physicians.
• Assist with Joint Commission readiness efforts.
• Facilitate patient triage to promote patient flow.
• Ensure discharge follow-up appointments, medications, and home needs are arranged.
