Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a hospitalist in internal medicine to oversee inpatient care and coordinate treatment plans for unassigned hospital patients. The role requires eligibility for Minnesota medical license and board eligibility in Internal Medicine (or in final year of an ACGME-accredited program). Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or foreign degree equivalent.
• Eligible for Minnesota medical license.
• Board eligibility in Internal Medicine or final year of ACGME-accredited program leading to board eligibility in Internal Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient hospital care and manage the overall treatment plan for unassigned hospital patients.
• Coordinate care by other medical/surgical specialists through referrals as appropriate.
• Serve as liaison with family and other physicians/programs; keep primary care physician informed throughout hospital stay.
• Follow schedule of 7 days on/7 days off with 12-hour shifts.
