Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indianapolis seeks a Hospitalist for a float position across IU Health Methodist and University Hospitals, with limited coverage at North, Saxony and West campuses. The role offers a 1-2 year transition toward fellowship and/or a hospitalist career in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

The position is dually employed by IU Health Physicians and IU School of Medicine with a comprehensive benefits package, mileage reimbursement for travel between sites, and

Qualifications

• Residency training in Internal Medicine
• Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine
• Physician licensed in Indiana or eligible for medical licensure in Indiana

Responsibilities

• Admit to inpatient or appropriate level of care; perform or supervise the history and physical, daily patient evaluations, progress notes, discharge planning, and transfers.
• Support hospitalist APPs as needed for questions and unstable patients.
• Open and closed ICU depending on the hospital; no procedures required.
• Dual-employment with IUSM with opportunities in academic and community settings.
• Faculty role involving teaching students and Internal Medicine residents.
• Medical co-management with surgical services (PVS, CVS, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Urology, etc.)
