Job summary

Mayo Clinic seeks a hospitalist to provide inpatient care and manage comprehensive treatment plans for unassigned hospital patients. The role involves coordinating with specialists, social services, and other professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

The physician will liaise with families and other physicians to keep the primary care physician informed throughout hospitalization. The schedule is 7 days on/7 days off with 12-hour shifts, requiring eligibility for Minnesota medical license

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or foreign degree equivalent.
• Eligible for Minnesota medical license.
• BE/BC in Internal Medicine or in final year of ACGME-accredited program leading to board eligibility in Internal Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient hospital care and manage overall treatment plan for unassigned patients.
• Coordinate care with other medical/surgical specialists via referrals.
• Serve as liaison with family and other physicians/programs; communicate medical condition and treatment to patient’s PCP.
• Act as a point of contact to ensure continuity of care during hospital stay.
