Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose and treat patients presenting to Altru.
• Counsel patients and advise on preventive healthcare measures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure appropriate reimbursements.

Patient Volumes

• Rounder: Average 12-20 patients per day
• Admitter: Typically 6-12 admissions per shift

Requirements

• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal Medicine Licensed MD/DO in ND and MN
• Board certification in area of specialty must be obtained within six years of employment.
• Must be granted medical staff appointments at Altru and associated facilities as are necessary to the commission of duties prior to commencement of employment.
• Must be insurable under the Health System's professional liability carrier prior to commencement of employment.
• Be legally licensed to practice medicine by the North Dakota Board of Medicine and/or Minnesota Board of Medicine, depending on the location of the practice to which they are assigned.
• Language Requirements: This position requires proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members. This position may be eligible for visa sponsorship and candidates requiring sponsorship are welcome to apply.

Essential Job Functions

Evaluates, provides diagnosis and treatment of patients of Altru who present with injuries or illnesses. Counsels patients and advises on preventative healthcare measures. Exercises Doctor's own judgment in the diagnosis and treatment of patients consistent with Altru's policies and standards. Achieves the Altru Patient Engagement and Quality & Safety goals established on an annual basis. Participates in activities and support department goals as defined by department on an annual basis. Maintains accurate and timely documentation ensuring quality patient care and assurance of appropriate reimbursements to Altru. Performs other duties as assigned.
