Job summary

Intermountain Health in Montana seeks a Hospitalist at St. James Hospital in Butte to work day and night shifts within a collaborative care network. You will partner with APPs, care management, Emergency Medicine, and support staff to deliver top‑tier patient care.

This full‑time role offers a competitive compensation package with a $25,000 starting bonus, up to $20,000 relocation bonus (if applicable), and up to $100,000 in student loan repayment, plus PSLF eligibility.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency trained in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Board certification or eligibility in the designated discipline.
• Active Montana medical license or ability to obtain one.
• Credentialing process completion with Intermountain Health.
• 3–5 years of Hospitalist experience.
• Passion for inpatient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide top‑notch care and patient experience in collaboration with hospital and medical group providers.
• Collaborate with APPs, care management, the Emergency Medicine team and support staff.
• Participate in a two‑shift model (day and night) with a 7 on/7 off schedule.
• Daily APP coverage and strong partnership with St. Vincent Regional hospital.

About this role.

As a Hospitalist at our St. James Hospital, you'll work collaboratively with hospital and medical group providers, to provide top notch care and patient experience. Throughout the day you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with APPs, care and case management, the Emergency Medicine team, and excellent support staff!

• Competitive Compensation: $346,500 annual salary plus the potential to earn more with a production incentive.
• Quality Incentive: up to $15,000
• Incentives: $25,000 starting bonus, up to $20,000 relocation bonus (if applicable), and up to $100,000 student loan repayment bonus (if applicable). We’re also PSLF eligible!
• You will practice at our St. James Hospital, a Level 4 Trauma Center, in Butte, MT.
• We run two shifts - day and night.
• Full-time position (165 shifts for the year)
• Mixture of days and nights with a 7 on 7 off model.
• Daily APP coverage.
• Strong partnership with our St. Vincent Regional hospital. The hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center, a Certified Stroke Center, and an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI.
• Easy access to an international airport in Bozeman, MT & Billings, MT.

What you’ll bring.

• MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine.
• Residency trained in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Board certification or eligibility in the designated discipline.
• Active, unobstructed Montana medical license, or the ability to obtain one.
• Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process.
• At least 3-5 years experience as a Hospitalist is required.
• Passion for inpatient care.
