Job summary

Huntsville Memorial Hospital in Huntsville, AL, seeks a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to assess and treat patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Under the supervision of the Director of Therapy Services, you will plan, direct and coordinate high-quality pathology services.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, document care, and participate in discharge planning and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology required.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech & Language Pathology (ASHA) required.
• Texas Department of Health license to practice Speech & Language Pathology required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients' needs and disorders, diagnoses and plans therapy with physician input.
• Develops, implements, and revises plans of care for speech-language pathology.
• Educates patients and families on home safety and medical equipment related to services.
• Communicates findings and changes in condition to physicians.
