LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, Inc. is seeking Hospital Service Technicians to handle shipment and delivery of blood and components in Jacksonville, FL.

The role requires first-shift work (8:00am–4:30pm), five days weekly, with some weekend and on-call hours and shift differentials for evenings/night hours. The position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to contribute to life-saving healthcare services.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and eligibility requirements

• Physical ability to stand/walk, lift up to 70 pounds, and frequent repetitive motion

Responsibilities

• Review shipping notices and orders to determine priorities and methods
• Receive and carry out blood orders from hospitals and customers
• Inspect and ensure blood products are safe, pure and potent
• Package and deliver blood products to service area clients or other agencies
• Run errands and transport small items for repair when needed
• Assist Hospital Services Team Leader with issue resolution per SOP
• Provide highest level of customer service to internal and external customers

• This position MUST be 1st Shift.****Available Shift - First Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm, 5 days a week; some weekend and on-call hours are required.****Shift differential applies to eligible evening and overnight hours.**

Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)

• Review shipping notices, orders and other records to determine priorities and shipping methods required to meet scheduled deadlines
• Receive and carry out blood orders from hospitals and other customers
• Inspect and evaluate blood products to ensure they are safe, pure and potent
• Package and deliver blood products to service area clients or to other transportation agencies
• Run errands, deliver documents, pick up supplies and transport small items for repair when necessary
• Assist Hospital Services Team Leader with resolving problems in a timely manner according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver’s eligibility requirements
• Must be able to work a varied schedule. Some night, weekend and on-call hours are required
• Ability to organize and manage time effectively
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Must be able to do basic math, including addition, subtraction, proportion, percentages, etc.
• Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 70 pounds, grasping and repetitive motion. Occasional stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, climbing, overhead lifting
