Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Supervisor of Security to oversee security personnel and ensure the safety of staff, patients, and visitors at our medical center. The role includes managing the security incident tracking program, budgeting, and operational shifts, while coordinating with Risk management on incidents and investigations.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years in hospital security or law enforcement, supervisory training, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in hospital security or law enforcement.
• Documented security supervisory training.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate officers' performance and provide guidance to improve performance.
• Exercise authority over all security operations.
• Staffing and scheduling of security personnel; communicate directives from leadership.
• Ensure officers are properly attired and follow policy procedures.
• Perform executive details, deliveries and special events.
• Manage Parking Office authority for restricted/high-risk areas.
• Review daily activity logs and reports at shift end.
• Investigate security incidents and coordinate with Risk management.
• Respond to security calls and codes; ensure duties are carried out.
• Address theft and property damage and document incidents.
• Handle disorderly patients and visitors, including those in ED under arrest.
• Enforce facility regulations and participate in safety/ETD meetings.
• Adhere to organizational competencies and standards.
