Role Overview

The Security Officer supports UI Health Hospital by performing protective services, guarding campus facilities, controlling access, and ensuring safety across various settings including medical and campus buildings.

Responsibilities

• Transport and escort high-risk patients; secure valuables.
• Assist with patient restraints and special duty watches.
• Provide standby services for high-risk clients; assist in patient searches.
• Patrol campus, respond to alarms and disturbances, enforce safety policies.
• Respond to emergencies, administer first aid or CPR, manage conflicts.
• Control access, monitor identification, and maintain reports.
• Search for missing persons, control traffic, enforce policies.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license.
• No felony or moral turpitude convictions.
• State of Illinois PERC card.
• One year security experience in institutional or medical setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of security regulations and restraint techniques.
• Emergency response skills, including first aid and CPR.
• Certifications like IAHSS CHPA, Crisis Prevention, or physical agility.
