Job summary

East Alabama Medical Center is seeking a Security Officer to patrol the facilities and protect patients, staff, and property. Officers perform bi-hourly rounds, monitor surveillance, and respond to emergencies while maintaining patient privacy and professional conduct at all times.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of healthcare or law enforcement experience, CPI completion with 1 year of employment, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year healthcare or law enforcement experience.
• Required Registration/License/Certification.
• Completion of CPI class with 1 year of employment.
• BLS within 90 days of DOH/Transfer.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Preferred Education: some college.

Responsibilities

• Secure premises, patients and personnel with bi-hourly rounds and monitor security cameras.
• Respond to codes and secure medications, valuables, weapons, etc.
• Secure and transport cadavers to the morgue until release.
• Inspect all access points to prevent theft, damage and patient elopement.
• Monitor all instructed equipment and perform light maintenance; call maintenance when needed.
