Job summary

Allied Universal in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer for a hospital setting. You will monitor facilities, assist patients and staff, and maintain a visible security presence to deter incidents.

The role requires 2+ years in security, ability to pass background checks and drug screening, and the capacity to lift up to 20 pounds. Training and benefits are provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Willing to receive required hospital vaccinations.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following established healthcare location protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, directions, and escort requests in accordance with site‑specific procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and/or unusual activity accurately and report relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
