Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong written and verbal communication with the public and staff.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Up to 5 years of verifiable experience, including 3 years in security, law enforcement, customer service or related field.
• Intermediate computer skills and ability to write reports and log events.
• Ability to calmly handle crisis situations.
• Assist in lifting patients as needed to support nursing staff or transport expired patients.
• Restrain violent/combative patients to prevent injuries.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all areas of the hospital to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
• Act as a visible deterrent to crime and policy infractions and report suspicious or unsafe activities.
• Interact with psychiatric/violent patients as required.
• Work on campus 24/7 and report to the Supervisor of Security Services.
