Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking Security Flex Officers for St. Vincent Hospital in Erie. The role is part-time at $17.00 per hour, with schedules up to 30 hours weekly including weekends.

Officers may assist nursing staff with restraints and may escort staff to the morgue as needed. Requires 21+ for armed roles and 18+ for unarmed, with required vaccinations and background checks. Uniforms and equipment are provided at no cost, and the position offers paid training, benefits, and career progression

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required prior to employment.
• Frequent walking/standing; comfortable with indoor/outdoor environments.
• Willingness to assist nursing staff with patient restraints and other security duties.
• Vaccinations required prior to working on site (TB, MMR, Varicella, Tetanus).

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity.
• Patrol on foot or vehicle to safeguard premises and check for unsafe conditions.
• De-escalate conflicts verbally and physically when needed.
• Inspect security devices and fire control equipment.
• Screen staff, visitors, and clients to expedite admittance to the facility.
• Respond to emergencies with calm urgency and coordinate with hospital staff.

Security Flex Officers Needed at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie

Part-Time - $17.00 / Hour

Flex Officers Are Scheduled Up To 30 Hours Per Week, Weekends Included in Schedule

- Officer may be required to assist nursing staff with patient restraints - proper training provided

- Officer may be required to escort nursing staff to hospital morgue with deceased patients

- Officer must be at least 21+ Years of Age

- Frequent walking/standing required (indoor/outdoor); Moderate technological usage required

- Multiple vaccinations are required prior to working on site (company paid) including: two-stage Tuberculosis screening, MMR, Varicella, Tetanus screenings (TB testing instructions provided at orientation)

- Child abuse clearance will be submitted at orientation

As a Hospital Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard a high profile healthcare customer. The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for the surveillance of the client’s healthcare premises and the protection of the staff, members, and visitors. A Hospital Security Professional detects and prevents any suspicious activity, observe and reports incidents, and provides customer service in a friendly and professional manner.

Responsibilities:

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals
• Orally and physically de-escalating individuals, as needed
• Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency
• May also include patient escort, patient watch, provide safety escort, assist and/or transport deceased to morgue
• Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universalwill consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  *A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only
• Post offer, must be able to successfully complete the training requirement and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification
