The University of Iowa Health Care Downtown Campus is hiring a Plumber to install and repair piping, fixtures, and equipment, including gas, water, and drainage systems. This full-time position is 8:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, located on campus in Iowa City. Under general supervision, the role requires knowledge of codes, safety, and practical skills to maintain and service laboratory and hospital facilities, with opportunities to support area mechanics and respond to

Formación

• Four years of experience in the trade (apprenticeship allowed).
• Ability to interpret instructions, specifications and blueprints.
• Knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations and safety rules.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Installs and repairs sinks, fixtures, water heaters, piping and related equipment.
• Tests and maintains water distribution and gas piping systems.
• Reads layouts, blueprints, and drawings.
• Maintains equipment records and test reports; tracks materials and effort.
• May assist Pipefitter or Insulator and provide tech support to area mechanics or students.
• Responds to emergency repair calls.
