Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled facilities technician to operate and maintain daily plant operations at Methodist Fremont Health Hospital, located at 450 E 23rd St., Fremont, NE. The role works Mon-Fri 4pm to 12:30am and supports a safe, comfortable healthcare environment.

Responsibilities include operating boilers, chillers, HVAC, and emergency power systems, performing maintenance, and documenting inspections. Strong mechanical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) required.
• 1–2 years experience in steam plant operations preferred.
• 1–2 years experience in HVAC required.
• Experience in troubleshooting mechanical or electrical equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers and related systems per policies to ensure a safe healthcare environment.
• Tests and maintains Emergency Generator and Transfer Switch to ensure power during outages.
• Operates HVAC and building automation systems to maintain patient comfort and safety.
• Performs scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on environmental control equipment and patient care systems.
