Job summary

Shenandoah Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Tech to support medication preparation and dispensing for pharmacist approval, manage stock levels across the pharmacy and Pyxis units, and provide patient-focused customer service. The role includes documentation, IV preparation under USP guidelines, and administrative tasks to support the pharmacy team.

Preferred candidates have prior pharmacy tech or hospital experience and familiarity with electronic health records and general computer use.

Qualifications

• Prior pharmacy tech or hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records preferred.
• General computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare medications to be dispensed for pharmacist approval.
• Maintain appropriate medication stock levels and ordering for the pharmacy and patient care areas.
• Triages questions in the form of customer service.
• Document unit dose preparations, compounded preparations, and medications dispensed to Pyxis.
• Provide administrative support for the Pharmacy department, including scheduling and record-keeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
