Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Abilene is seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician to support medication preparation and dispensing under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will handle prep, inventory, narcotics control, and technician duties in a hospital setting.

This role requires a High School diploma, 1 year of experience, current state certification, and a valid driver's license. Strong communication and computer skills are essential; occasional heavy lifting is part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience required.
• Current state pharmacy technician certification required.
• Valid Driver’s license with safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications and supplies for dispensing including pre-packing bulk medications, compounding ointments, creams, oral solutions, and other meds; prepare TPN and large/ small volume IVs as needed.
• Control and audit narcotics / stock substances on a regular basis.
• Prepare inventories, order drugs and supplies, receive drugs and stock shelves in pharmacy locations.
• Perform monthly inspections, maintain workload records, and collect quality‑assurance data.
• Transport medications and pharmacy equipment to hospitals daily.
• Assist in training new employees as needed.
• Prepare sterile preparations following policies and procedures.
• Assist other pharmacy staff as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.
