Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Learn under supervision of pharmacists and pharmacy staff to become a technician.
  • Assist in preparing, stocking and distributing medications.
  • Fill prescription orders.
  • Maintain inventory and restock items in the pharmacy.
  • Perform administrative tasks and handle billing/insurance documentation.
  • Respond to patient and provider inquiries and refer to the Pharmacist.
  • Comply with rules and procedures to keep the pharmacy clean and safe.
  • Gain knowledge of equipment and technology in the department.
  • Triaged phone calls and take detailed messages.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in behavior, appearance and interactions.

OVERVIEW

Join our pharmacy team and build your career while working alongside experienced pharmacists dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you'll gain hands‑on experience preparing and dispensing medications, supporting patients and healthcare providers, managing pharmacy operations, and contributing to a safe, organized, and collaborative environment.

Schedule

Monday - Friday (no weekends, holidays)

Shift

7 AM - 3:30 PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works under direct supervision of pharmacists and other pharmacy staff to learn the skills needed to become a pharmacy technician.
  • Assists in preparing, stocking and distributing medications. These tasks may also include procuring, measuring, compounding (sterile and non-sterile), counting, and delivering medications.
  • Fills prescription/medication orders.
  • Maintains inventory and restocks items in the pharmacy.
  • Performs administrative tasks such as updating records, keeping the pharmacy clean and organized, and handling billing and insurance documentation.
  • Responds to the requests of patients and healthcare providers and refer various inquiries to the Pharmacist.
  • Complies with rules, regulations and procedures to help maintain a clean and safe pharmacy.
  • Obtains a working knowledge of the functionality of all equipment and technology in the department.
  • Appropriately triages phone calls and takes detailed phone messages.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in behavior, appearance and interactions.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

IL applicants: License is required.

WI applicants: Registration is required.
