Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn seeks a full-time TH Pharmacy Assistant / Hospital Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining inventory, and documenting patient records.

The role requires NY State Pharmacy Technician license and national certification, proficiency with standard software, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; you will interact with patients and staff and participate in meds-to-beds discharge processes.

Qualifications

• New York State Pharmacy Technician License and National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
• Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other basic programs.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications and maintaining patient records.
• Order, receive, and stock inventory from medication distributors daily.
• Process prescription refills and new orders with pharmacist verification.
• Provide excellent customer service and counseling at point of sale.
• Deliver discharge medications to patients through meds-to-beds program.
• Maintain sanitation, logs, and audit inventory with appropriate documentation.
